Summary
How It Works
How To Use

Many Fishbowl customers grow by expanding the SKUs they sell faster than they can expand the SKUs they physically stock. Dropshipping and supplier-fulfilled inventory are the obvious answer — but they create a real operational problem. Every supplier sends data differently, every channel needs the latest stock and price, and every order needs to land at the right vendor with the right details. Done manually, it eats your team. Spark Shipping closes that gap. Spark Shipping is an eCommerce automation platform that connects Fishbowl to your full supplier network and your full sales-channel mix. It pulls real-time inventory and product feeds from your suppliers, syncs them into Fishbowl, routes orders to the right vendor, and feeds tracking back into Fishbowl and your storefront — automatically, in whatever format each supplier requires.

What you get with Spark Shipping + Fishbowl

Sell more SKUs without holding more inventory: extend Fishbowl into a true dropship operation.
Eliminate manual supplier work: no more downloading FTP feeds, mailing PO PDFs, or pasting tracking numbers.
Keep Fishbowl as your single source of truth: Spark Shipping enriches Fishbowl, never replaces it.

Spark Shipping connects on one side to your suppliers and on the other side to Fishbowl and your sales channels. Suppliers stay autonomous; Fishbowl stays the system of record; Spark Shipping handles the data movement and decisioning between them.

Inventory & catalog sync. Spark Shipping pulls real-time inventory, pricing, and product feeds from each of your suppliers in whatever format they use — Email, EDI, FTP, CSV, XML, or API. The data is normalized, deduplicated, and synced into Fishbowl on a cadence you control, so Fishbowl always reflects what your suppliers can actually fulfill. AI-generated product descriptions, fitment data, and one-to-many vendor mapping are all supported.

Intelligent order routing. When an order lands in your store or in Fishbowl, Spark Shipping evaluates your routing rules — in-stock status, lowest cost, regional preference, supplier priority, custom logic — and dispatches a purchase order to the chosen supplier in the format they expect. If the same SKU is offered by multiple vendors, Spark Shipping picks the one most likely to fulfill it well.

Fulfillment & tracking writeback. As soon as the supplier ships, Spark Shipping captures the tracking number, marks the order as shipped, and writes the data back into Fishbowl and your storefront. Customers get notified automatically. Exceptions (out-of-stock, late ship, missing tracking) surface in the Spark Shipping dashboard so your team can act on the small percentage that need attention instead of supervising the 95% that just work.

Fishbowl stays the system of record. Throughout the lifecycle, Fishbowl remains the authoritative ledger for inventory, sales orders, purchase orders, and costs. Spark Shipping enriches Fishbowl with supplier data and automates the steps in between — it does not replace any of the core inventory, manufacturing, or accounting workflows you already run in Fishbowl.

  1. Sign up for Spark Shipping and connect your Fishbowl instance (Fishbowl Inventory or Fishbowl Advanced / Manufacturing).
  2. Connect your sales channels — Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Magento / Adobe Commerce, Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and others.
  3. Add your suppliers — choose from 150+ prebuilt vendor integrations, or have Spark Shipping build a custom integration for vendors not already in the catalog.
  4. Configure your routing rules — decide which supplier fulfills which orders, how inventory is reconciled into Fishbowl, and how frequently each data type syncs.
  5. Go live — Spark Shipping moves products, inventory, orders, and tracking automatically. Use the dashboard to monitor exceptions and KPIs; your team focuses on growth, not file ops.

Fishbowl Integrates with Spark Shipping FAQs

Which Fishbowl products does Spark Shipping integrate with?

Spark Shipping integrates with Fishbowl Inventory and Fishbowl Advanced / Manufacturing. The integration covers product data, inventory levels, sales orders, purchase orders, and tracking — keeping Fishbowl as the system of record across the dropship lifecycle.

Do my suppliers need to be on a specific platform?

No. Spark Shipping is format-agnostic. We accept supplier feeds in any method your vendors already use — Email, EDI, FTP, CSV, XML, or API — and normalize them before they reach Fishbowl. There is no special onboarding required from your suppliers.

Can one product be sold by multiple suppliers?

Yes — and this is one of Spark Shipping’s signature capabilities. You can map a single SKU to multiple suppliers and configure routing rules so each order is fulfilled by the right vendor based on stock, cost, region, vendor priority, or custom logic. Most other inventory and dropship tools force a one-to-one mapping; Spark Shipping does not.

How often does data sync between Spark Shipping and Fishbowl?

Sync cadence is configurable per data type. Most customers run inventory and order syncs on intervals between 15 minutes and 1 hour. Higher-velocity stores can sync more frequently. Spark Shipping uses Fishbowl’s scheduler and APIs so syncs run without manual intervention.

Do we need a developer to implement this?

No. Spark Shipping’s implementation team handles the supplier mappings, routing rules, and Fishbowl-side configuration alongside you. Most customers go live in 2–4 weeks without dedicated engineering resources.
