Scanning Through the Schedule Module

October 19, 2018
Use part tracking software to keep perishable items from going bad, Fishbowl Inventory BlogThe Schedule module contains all of the scheduled and queued tasks that you want Fishbowl to perform at the right times. These can include data backups, imports, and exports. We’ll go through the four steps you must take to create a new scheduled task. First, choose the type of event you want to schedule:
  • Database Backup
  • Export to CSV
  • Import from CSV
  • Customized Java Class
  • Report
  • Data Export Query
Second, choose the schedule settings, which will be different depending on the type you selected. All of them ask for a name and description, but they may also ask for the directory, mask, import type, file name, email address, Java class, and parameters. Third, schedule the time(s) that the task will run:
  • Frequency (Minute, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Annually)
  • Minute Interval
  • Time of Day
  • Day of Week
  • Day of Month
  • Month
Fourth, read a schedule summary to ensure everything looks correct and then click Finish. You can see a list of both Queued Tasks and Scheduled Tasks that have been created in the module. Next week we’ll see how the Unit of Measure module measures up.
