Electronic data interchange (EDI) is a tool that customizes the format of data that is sent from vendors to retailers. Large retailers (like Costco, Walmart, and Target) require orders and invoices they receive from vendors to include specific information and follow the same template. They won’t do business with vendors that don’t have an EDI.
Fishbowl has a number of partners in the Fishbowl Partner Marketplace that offer EDI integration with Fishbowl Manufacturing and Fishbowl Warehouse. These EDIs automatically send sales orders and other documents created in Fishbowl to the appropriate recipients.
