About Dingo Australia
Dingo Australia was established in 1992 when Gary Briggs acquired the manufacturing rights to the Dingo mini loader and began reinventing the product from their factory in Dalby, Queensland. With 62 employees across Australia, Dingo has built a strong reputation as the number one manufacturer and supplier of Australia’s most unique earthmoving machines.
Over more than two decades of operation, Dingo has manufactured in excess of 8,000 machines and developed a portfolio of over 60 different attachments. Their mini diggers are the machines of choice for landscapers, contractors, and the hire industry, with the company also expanding into the mining sector in recent years.
The Challenge
Dingo Australia operates not only as a manufacturer but also as a distributor of whole goods, spare parts, and service from branches in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and Western Australia. This multi-faceted business model created significant complexity in managing operations across state lines.
The company needed a solution sophisticated enough to handle inventory management, warehouse distribution, and manufacturing requirements while bringing all these components together into one user-friendly system. Adding to the challenge, their previous software also contained their financial requirements, meaning they needed to replace their accounting system simultaneously. A cost-effective financial package that delivered a user-friendly experience was essential to their selection process.
The Solution
Dingo Australia’s journey with Fishbowl began with a personal introduction from Simon Jupe, the Fishbowl founder in Australia. The decision to move away from their existing ERP software was not taken lightly, but the combination of Fishbowl with Reckon Accounts proved instrumental in their choice. The integration between the two systems would ensure their operational and financial needs were met while providing a smooth transition.
“We can highly recommend Fishbowl Software to any business that is looking to choose an excellent cost effective ERP Software System.”
Karen Russell, Financial Controller
While there were some initial teething problems, the Fishbowl team provided support at every step. The implementation delivered exactly what Dingo needed: a user-friendly system that their team could embrace without extensive retraining.
The Results
The most important outcome for Dingo Australia was finding software that their entire team could adopt readily. The user-friendly nature of Fishbowl meant staff embraced the change rather than resisting it. More significantly, the system empowered employees to take on tasks that were previously too difficult for them, enabling multitasking across the organisation.
By having people able to handle multiple responsibilities, Dingo has strengthened their operational resilience and protected the company for the future. The ongoing relationship with Fishbowl continues to deliver value, as the software is regularly updated in response to customer needs and real-world situations.
