True horror isn’t reading the words “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” on page after page of Jack Torrance’s manuscript. No, the real horror is found in the statement, “All work orders and no supply makes for a lack of full bays.”
I’m joking, of course. That’s one of the most unsettling scenes in The Shining (1980). But one of the scariest things in running a manufacturing business is to run out of the very materials they need to make their products.
I know I already did my customary Halloween blog post earlier this month, but I couldn’t help myself. This idea was just too fun to pass up.
