On September 1, 2017, Fishbowl employees gathered at the headquarters of Utah Girls Love You (UGLY) in Pleasant Grove to organize donated clothes, repaint part of the building, and perform other bits of service. This was all part of the 9th annual Fishbowl Day of Service.
In addition to this, about a dozen Fishbowl employees went over to the Pleasant Grove City offices and did some weeding and yardwork. Fishbowl recently received a note from Deon Giles, the Parks & Recreation Director for Pleasant Grove. It’s a real treat for Fishbowl to receive something like this in recognition of its efforts to serve the community, so we’d like to share it with you.
To the Volunteers,
I wanted to write and express Pleasant Grove City’s appreciation for the hard work and community service you performed at the Library and the grounds around the City Facilities. Both the Library Director and the Parks Superintendent were very pleased with all the work accomplished in such a short time period. We are lucky to live in a beautiful area where we have such great volunteerism that helps keep our City beautiful. In 2016 we received over 4,000 hours in community service. This is a huge savings for the City of Pleasant Grove, over $55,000.
It is volunteers like yourselves that allows Pleasant Grove to be the wonderful community that it is.
Thank you again,
Deon Giles, Parks & Recreation Director
It’s our pleasure.
