Welcome to the second installment in this series of blog posts exploring what Fishbowl is and does. Last week we covered the fact that there are manufacturing and warehouse versions of Fishbowl software, and this time we’re going to talk about the operating systems that Fishbowl supports.
Windows
From the start, Fishbowl has worked on PCs running Windows. The Fishbowl Client is currently compatible with the Pro and Enterprise versions of:
- Windows 10
- Windows 8
- Windows 7
- Windows Vista
The Fishbowl Server can be downloaded and run on computers running the Standard and Datacenter editions of:
- Windows Server 2012
- Windows Server 2011
- Windows Server 2008
Apple
The Fishbowl Server and Client are compatible with Mac OS X 10.7.3 or newer versions. For a long time, the Fishbowl Server could only be hosted on Windows or Linux operating systems, so this is a nice feature.
Linux
For those more hands-on programmer types, Fishbowl works on a Linux operating system.
Not Supported
Anything before Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.7.3 is no longer supported by Fishbowl. The obsolete systems that fall under this category include:
- Windows 2003
- Windows XP
- Windows ME
- Windows 2000
- Windows 98
- Windows NT
- Windows 95
- Mac OS X 10.7.2 or older
