Dashboard

The Dashboard Module is accessed within the General Module Group.
The Dashboard Module is designed to be an overview of pending orders in your system, and will be the first screen viewed each time the Fishbowl Client is opened. By default, it contains a summary of open Sales Orders, items to be Received, Items to be Picked, and items to be Shipped. However, the Dashboard Module is fully customizable to treat each user's specific needs, and each user may have their own personalized Dashboard with modules relating to their job description.
The following functions are available through the Dashboard Module:
- Create multiple Dashboard pages
- Customize any Dashboard page
- View orders in any status throughout Fishbowl
- View Fishbowl Reports
- View Fishbowl Quick Links

Create a New Dashboard 
To create a new Dashboard you must first select the Create a New Dashboard 
icon located on the Main Page Toolbar. A new Dashboard subtab will be displayed named Untitled 1. You may change the subtab name at any time by double clicking the name Untitled 1. The name will appear highlighted yellow, allowing you to type any words desired. When you have entered a new name, simply click away from the subtab and the title will be saved.
You will now have a blank Dashboard. The first thing you will need to do is to add Gadgets (these are your module summaries) to your Dashboard. You may create several Dashboards as necessary; after each Dashboard has been created select the Save Layout icon located on the Module Toolbar. Any time you wish to load your original layout, simply click the Load Layout icon from the Module Toolbar and all of your saved Dashboard subtabs will appear.
Add Gadgets to a Dashboard
Once a New Dashboard (or if you are modifying an existing Dashboard) has been created, the first thing you will need to do is add Gadgets (these are your module summaries) to your Dashboard. To view your gadget options, first select the Show Palette 
icon located on the Module Toolbar. With this icon selected, your Palette is found at the bottom of your main screen. The following Gadgets are available to add to any Dashboard:

To add a gadget, simply left click any of the available gadgets shown in the palette and drag your mouse to the main screen. Release the left click, and the gadget will be dropped to the Dashboard.
You have the option of showing the full summary of each gadget; however to save space you may also collapse each summary so only the gadget header is visible. You may collapse/uncollapse a gadget summary at any time by left clicking on the blue gadget header. An option you also have is to view the Quick Links summary. The Quick Links summary provides a link to each of our main modules directly from the Dashboard module. ie: Create new customers, sales orders, shipping, New Parts, or vendors, etc. From this Quick Links summary you may even Export to QuickBooks!
After each subtab is formatted to your liking, make sure to select the Save Layout icon located on the Module Toolbar. This will save your Dashboard layout to load as specified each time you log into the client.
About Dashboard
The Dashboard Module is designed for users to open the Fishbowl Client and view their customized summary of orders. The Dashboard Module is not user specific, but allows each user to view the different Dashboard subtabs. Due to the versatility of the Dashboard module, it can be difficult to give exact instructions for the many different features; however the basic functions will be explained below.
The Dashboard Module Toolbar provides important information regarding each Dashboard subtab. The features are as followed:
Save Layout: When a new dashboard is created, or any changes are made to an existing Dashboard, clicking the Save Layout icon will save and display your changes each time a user logs onto the Fishbowl Client.
Load Layout: Selecting this icon will immediately load your saved layout, regardless of any additional information (that has not been saved) currently on the Main Screen. If changes had been made but not saved, the Load Layout will revert the Dashboard subtab back to the last saved layout.
Columns: This icon may be selected at any time to add additional columns to new or existing Dashboards. When this icon is selected, a Set Column Count dialog box will be displayed. Choose the number (between 1-20) )of columns to appear in the Dashboard subtab and select ok.
Refresh: Refreshes the Dashboard Main Screen.
Help: The help icon takes the user directly to the online documentation, which is currently our Fishbowl Wiki.
The Main Screen of the Dashboard Module has been created to fit the needs of every user in your company. Well over 200 new Dashboards may be created by using the Create New Dashboard .
